Alan Moore, temporal fugitive

Today on a mailing list I was rambling on about Alan Moore’s ‘From Hell’, and its use of non-linear time.

Coincedentally, the other day I found proof of the author’s own time travelling powers.

How else do you explain this image, a detail from a 1665 atlas? Quite why someone who lives in Northampton is posing next to China, I’ve no idea, but nonetheless it’s an indication of Moore’s great, chronology defiant talent.
